AN INTMATE CONVERSATION WITH CASSANDRA KING CONROY LECTURE NIGHT 5 (Monday Session)

  • Village Social Habersham 21A Market Street Beaufort, South Carolina United States (map)

ATTENTION: THERE HAS BEEN A PROGRAMING CHANGE FOR THIS CONTENT OF THIS EVENT!

Due to an unexpected development, Johnathan Haupt is not available to lead the Nature Writer Lectures this month. Hopefully a make up date will be announce as soon as possible. We do not have anymore information on that at this time.

As several tickets have already sold to both the Sunday and Monday Sessions of the January Lectures we don’t want anyone to be disappointed. In lieu of the Nature Lecture, Cassandra King Conroy, Pat’s wife and renowned author in her own right has graciously offered to come speak with us in an intimate setting on her life and times with Pat Conroy!

We hope everyone who has purchased tickets will still attend with the same enthusiasm. However if you would prefer a refund please let us know at least 24 hours prior to the event.

Limited Seating still remains available at this time. Please purchase the original ticket below if you wish to attend.

Pat Conroy Literary Center executive director Jonathan Haupt and poet Tim Conroy will discuss the nature writing of Pat Conroy, the bestselling author of The Water Is Wide, The Great Santini, The Prince of Tides, and more. From his obscure boyhood poetry to his beloved lyrical adult prose, Conroy wrote about the beauty of our natural world as both wondrous and perilous, using the lowcountry not only as a setting but as the central character of his many books. This presentation will highlight representative examples of Conroy’s nature writing from across the span of his writing life, drawing attention to how Conroy’s relationship with nature is also ultimately a relationship with his deeply felt spiritual and humanistic faith.

The $25 registration fee includes the presentation, refreshments, and a donation in support of the year-round educational mission of the nonprofit Pat Conroy Literary Center.
